Works on Paper, Etching and Botanical

SECTION ONE:

Looking for new ways to tell the story of my awe and wonder in the land, I was inspired to bring the actual grasses, weeds and flowers that grow everywhere in Alberta. This led to a series of botanical etchings. I placed the flora on a copper plate covered in wax, called ‘soft ground” and proceeded to run the plate through an etching press to imprint the material on the wax surface. The plate is processed through an acid bath and then inked by hand using natural and enhanced colours.

SECTION TWO:

In London, England I lived and worked in studios with a view of the River Thames. These are some of many views and boats that I saw daily.
